43-year-old mathematician and serial bomber Theodore Kaczynski aka The Unabomber mails Bomb #9 to the Auburn Fabrication Division of the Boeing Company in Auburn, Washington in Oakland, California, United States. The bomb was not addressed to anyone so it sat for a while in the mail room. It was eventually partially opened by mail room employees who discovered the enclosed device. The bomb did not explode.
