Film director Laurence Merrick is shot dead by 31-year-old Dennis Michael Mignano at the age of 51 in Merrick Studio Academy of Dramatic Arts, 870 N. Vine St, Hollywood, California, United States. Mignano auditioned at Merrick's school and 'black magic' spells were cast upon him that caused him problems.
