Cartoonist Georges Prosper Remi aka Hergé dies of myelofibrosis at the age of 76 in Universitair Ziekenhuis Saint-Luc, Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, Brussel, Brabant, Belgium. Hergé's death was ultimately hastened by the HIV he had acquired during his weekly blood transfusions.
