Seaton was found in his cot in an inferno of blazing flames strong enough to push back a rescuer who had heard him screaming. After the firemen had put the flames out investigators revealed that nothing was found that could have caused the fire. What was especially remarkable was that the surrounding furniture was hardly damaged.

Andre surrounded herself in her flat with numerous articles and photographs about the career she expected and set it all alight. Another resident of the building, 83-year-old George Katzenberger, was pulled to safety by two neighbors after he broke a bathroom window.
