The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office reported that Turner had died from a cocaine overdose. "The cause of death for Ike Turner is cocaine toxicity with other significant conditions, such as hypertensive cardiovascular disease and pulmonary emphysema."

Installation artist Jason Rhoades dies of heart failure at the age of 41 in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, 8700 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, United States. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's office Rhoades' death was caused by accidental drug intoxication and heart disease.
