Zazzara's 44-year-old wife Maxine was awakened by her husband's murder and Ramirez beat her and bound her hands while demanding to know where her valuables were. While he ransacked the room Maxine escaped her bonds and retrieved a shotgun from under the bed, which was not loaded. An infuriated Ramirez shot her three times and mutilated her body by stabbing her several times. He gouged out her eyes and placed them in a jewelry box that he took with him.

The body of 40-year-old victim of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley aka The Moors Murderers Pauline Reade is found in a shallow grave 90cm below the surface in Hollin Brown Knoll, Saddleworth Moor, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. In March 1987 Myra Hindley made a full confession to the murders and directed police search teams to the locations of their victims' graves.
