Mary Ellen DeLuca is strangled by serial killer Joel Rifkin aka The Long Island Ripper at the age of 22 in Nassau County, New York, United States.

DeLuca was picked up by Rifkin, rushed through sex with him and he asked her if she wanted to die and she said yes so he strangled her to death, she never fought back. He left her body at a rest stop outside Cornwall where she was found on 1 October.
