All the patients, mostly depressed young women, were severely sedated and locked up behind barred windows. 30 patients were heavily burned. The fire started when a nurse, who also died in the disaster, helped escape a patient who set fire to solitary confinement room 22 and forgot to close the door.

140 Die in Moby Prince ferry and Agip Abruzzo oil tanker collision and fire in Livorno Harbour, Livorno, Toscana, Italy. The only survivor of the crew and passengers of the ferry was the young ship's boy Alessio Bertrand from Napoli. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moby_Prince_disaster
