49-year-old bigamist and multiple murderer Johann Otto Hoch, originally John Schmidt aka The Bluebeard Murderer marries Marie Walcker in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Walcker becomes ill and dies on 12 January 1905. Three days later Hoch marries Walcker's sister Mrs. Fischer as John Hock.
