Dictatorial president Augusto Pinochet born as Augusto José Ramón Pinochet Ugarte dies of congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema at the age of 91 in Hospital Militar 1, Santiago, Región Metropolitana, Chile. By the time of his death about 300 criminal charges were still pending against Pinochet in Chile for numerous human rights violations during his 17-year rule and tax evasion and embezzlement during and after his rule.
