McLaren's Can-Am car crashed on the Lavant Straight just before Woodcote corner. The rear bodywork came adrift at speed making the loss of aerodynamic downforce destabilising the car, which spun, left the track and hit a bunker used as a flag station.

Shawcross used Neal's car to pick up, have sex with, and then kill his victims. According to the institution's policy, the newlyweds will be able to enjoy conjugal visits.
