Army officer, revolutionary and first President of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk aka Father of the Turks dies of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 57 in Dolmabahçe Palace, Istanbul, Marmara, Turkey. The clock in the bedroom where Atatürk died is still set to the time of his death, 9.05 in the morning.
