Spencer killed 53-year-old principal Burton Wragg and 56-year-old custodian Mike Suchar and wounded 9 children. After firing thirty rounds of ammunition, Spencer barricaded herself inside her home for several hours before surrendering. During the siege she had a telephone conversation with a journalist who reported that she had said "I don't like Mondays".
