28th President of Chile Salvador Guillermo Gossens Allende commits suicide by a shot through the head at the age of 65 in Palacio de La Moneda, Santiago, Región Metropolitana, Chile. As troops surrounded the palace during a military coup Allende gave his last speech vowing not to resign. Then Allende committed suicide with an AK47 rifle gifted to him by Fidel Castro.
