On the location where the so-called ‘Strangler of the Left Bank’ committed a murder, I was hanging upside down between four trees. To my arms and legs I tied small hatchets and I pulled a plastic bag over my head. I hung there as long as I could. The performance was inspired by an ever recurring nightmare by the ‘Strangler’, with whom I kept an intense correspondence for several years.

 Singer-songwriter John Denver born as Henry John Deutschendorf crashes with his experimental Rutan Long-EZ plane while making a series of touch-and-go landings at the nearby Monterey Peninsula Airport at the age of 54 in Monterey Bay, Pacific Grove, California, United States. Denver was not legally permitted to fly at the time of the accident because had a number of drunk driving arrests in the previous years. |
