Cyclist Tom Thomas Simpson drops dead due to the lethal combination of Tonedron amphetamines, alcohol, exhaustion and heat in the 13th stage of the Tour de France cyclist rally at the age of 30 in Mont Ventoux, Vaucluse, France. Simpson's last words as remembered by team mechanic Harry Hall were "On, on, on."
