Between 16 May and the morning of 18 May Kehoe killed his wife Ellen 'Nellie' Price. He moved her body to a farm building before setting off incendiary explosions in their house and farm buildings. About the same time he had arranged timed explosions in the new Bath Consolidated School building. In all 44 people died and 58 were injured in the explosions. After the bombings investigators found a wooden sign wired to the farm's fence with Kehoe's last message "Criminals are made, not born".

Double murderer Pierre-Désiré Moreau is executed by the Guillotine at the age of 32 in Paris, Île-de-France, France. Moreau poisoned his two wives, Félicité-Hortense Aubry on 18 August 1873 and Adélaïde-Louise Lagneau on 28 May 1874.
