Futurist poet Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky commits suicide a shot through the heart at the age of 37 in Moscow, Central Federal District, Russia. An unfinished poem in Mayakovsky's suicide note read in part: "The love boat has crashed against the daily routine. You and I, we are quits, and there is no point in listing mutual pains, sorrows, and hurts."
