Parker was accidently infected by a mislaid sample of the virus at the University of Birmingham Medical School. She fell ill on 11 August and was placed in quarantaine on 20 August. Parker became the last person to die of smallpox.

360 Die in Comayagua prison fire in Comayagua Prison, Honduras. An unidentified man reportedly shouted "We will all die here!" before starting the fire. His motives remain unknown. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comayagua_prison_fire
