On 20 July 1992 Mays asked his neighbour children 10-year-old Kristin Michelle Wiley and 7-year-old Kynara Lorin Carreiro to lower the volume on their stereo. Kynara answered "No, we're not going to turn it down! Just get out of the house!" Then Mays began stabbing both girls with a knife he took from the kitchen. Mays' last meal request was for six scrambled eggs with shredded cheese, cream gravy, hash browns, pan sausage, orange juice, and milk.

Andrey Kravchenko is stabbed to death by serial killer Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper at the age of 12 in Shakhty, Rostov Oblast, Russia.

Kravchenko's body was found on 19 February 1990.
