Dornier was chased by 40 police officers and wounded in the stomach during a shootout before being taken into custody. He was diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia and thus could not be held accountable for his crime according to French law.

Murderer Kenneth Eugene Bruce is executed by lethal injection at the age of 33 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Bruce's final meal request was for a double cheeseburger, french fries, orange juice and pecan pie.
