About 300 of 600 prisoners led by Soviet-Jewish POW Alexander Pechersky attempt to escape in KZ Sobibor, Sobibor, Województwo Lubelskie, Poland. They killed 11 German SS officers, overpowered the camp guards and seized the armory. 158 escapees we killed by the guards or in the minefield surrounding the camp.
