Pesquet was charged with the murders of his lover Julien Quibel in 1941 – for which he spent 20 years in prison – his wife Christiane Ruaux and her presumed lover Hubert Franqui in 1974 – their decomposed bodies were found in his basement – and 73-year-old Emile Bergaud, his 71-year-old wife Elizia and their maid Alfia Borgioni in July 1976.

Triple murderess Frances Elaine Newton is executed by lethal injection at the age of 40 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Newton struggled and thrashed, knocking out one of the nurses. Members of the National Black United Front, and the New Black Panther Party had gathered outside the prison.
