Rembrandt's painting 'Danaë' is attacked by 48-year-old art vandal Bronius Maigys in State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Northwestern Federal District, Russia. Maigys went into the Hermitage and headed to the Rembrandt’s painting hall, where he asked the keeper which of Rembrandt’s paintings was considered the most valuable — she replied that it was Danae, which was not for sale at all. Then Maygis went to Danae, pulled out a knife and a can of sulfuric acid from his jacket and stabbed the picture several times with a knife, falling into the thigh and abdomen of Danae.
