Thief and gaol-breaker Jack Sheppard aka Gentleman Jack aka Jack the Lad is executed by hanging at the age of 22 in Tyburn Tree, Tyburn, London, Greater London, United Kingdom. Sheppard's slight build had aided his previous prison escapes but it condemned him to a slow death by strangulation from the hangman's noose.
