I was planning to rob this woman all along. It was all set up. There were no flaws that I could see. I just attempted to knock her unconscious. It didn't work. She didn't become unconscious. I just kept hitting her until she did."

Dayle Yoshia Okazaki is shot dead by serial killer Richard Ramirez aka The Night Stalker at the age of 35 in Rosemead, California, United States.

Just before Ramirez attacked 22-year-old Maria Hernandez outside the house, shooting her in the face with a .22 caliber handgun after she pulled into the garage. She survived when the bullet ricocheted off the keys she held in her hands as she lifted them to protect herself.
