After the terrorists had been flown out to Aden, Lorenz was set free on 4 March. The kidnappers were Ralf Reinders, Ronald Fritzsch, Gerald Klöpper, Andreas Vogel and Till Meyer.

Murderer Anthony Guy Fuentes is executed by lethal injection at the age of 30 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Fuentes' last meal request was for fried chicken with biscuits and jalapeno peppers, steak and french fries, fajita tacos, pizza, a hamburger, water and Coca-Cola.
