18-year-old painter Frida Kahlo, originally Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calderón is involved in a bus accident in Mercado de San Juan, Mexico City, , Mexico. Kahlo is discovered with a metal pole protruding from her body and suffered a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, a fractured pelvis, 2 broken ribs, 11 fractures in her right leg and a dislocated and crushed right foot.
