In a darkened room a slide was projected onto a sheet of transparent plastic. From behind I sprayed white paint on it so the projection became visible: a view of the backroom in which I hung upside down. Unseen by the audience I hung myself in the same way. While violently swinging my body back and forth I could reach the plastic and pull it away while all the lights were switched on.

 Murderess Jean Lee born as Marjorie Jean Maude Wright is executed by hanging at the age of 32 in Pentridge Prison, Coburg, Victoria, Australia. On the morning of her execution Lee became hysterical and had to be sedated. She fainted when the executioner came to her cell and she was strapped semi-conscious to a chair. Lee was the last woman to be executed in Australia. |
