20th President of the United States James Abraham Garfield dies from an infected bullet wound in his abdomen at the age of 50 in Francklyn Cottage, Elberon, New Jersey, United States. Garfield was shot by Charles Guiteau at the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station in Washington, D.C. on 2 July. The bullet wound was probed with unwashed fingers by doctors trying to find the bullet. |
