Rapist and murderer John William Rook is executed by lethal injection at the age of 27 in Raleigh State Prison, Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Rook's final meal request was for a dozen hot dogs 'all the way' with mustard, ketchup, cole slaw, relish and chili and two Cokes. His last words were: ″Freedom, freedom, at last, man. It’s been a good one.″
