There is reason to believe that Delacroix' father Charles-François was infertile at the time of Eugène's conception and that his real father was Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord who was a friend of the family and successor of Charles Delacroix as Minister of Foreign Affairs and whom the adult Eugène resembled in appearance and character.

Student Benno Ohnesorg is killed by a policeman during a demonstration at the age of 27 in Krumme Strasse 66, Berlin, Berlin, Germany. Ohnesorg was killed by plain-clothes police officer Karl-Heinz Kurras, who was an undercover agent of the East German secret police Stasi, during a protest meeting against a visit of the Sjah of Iran. His death would spark off the rise of the Baader-Meinhof-Gruppe, and its allies Bewegung 2. Juni.
