Formula One racer Bruce Leslie McLaren crashes while testing his new McLaren M8D at the age of 33 in Goodwood Circuit, Chichester, West Sussex, United Kingdom. McLaren's Can-Am car crashed on the Lavant Straight just before Woodcote corner. The rear bodywork came adrift at speed making the loss of aerodynamic downforce destabilising the car, which spun, left the track and hit a bunker used as a flag station.
