Serial killer Velma Margie Barfield born as Margie Velma Bullard is executed by lethal injection at the age of 52 in Raleigh State Prison, Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Barfield was the first woman to die by lethal injection in North Carolina. Barfield chose as her last meal a bag of Cheez Doodles and a 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola, and wore pink pajamas and an adult diaper as she was put to death.
