Danuta Maciejowicz is strangled and mutilated by serial killer Łucjan Staniak aka The Red Spider of Katowice at the age of 17 in Olsztyn, Województwo Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Poland.

On 24 July the magazine 'Kulisy' received a poem from Staniak. "I picked a juicy flower in Olsztyn and I will do it again, because there is no Christmas without a funeral."
