The SS Mont-Blanc was a French cargo ship fully loaded with wartime explosives that collided with the Norwegian vessel SS Imo. Approximately twenty minutes later, a fire on board the SS Mont-Blanc ignited her explosive cargo, causing a cataclysmic explosion that devastated the Richmond District.

Leslie O'Dell is abducted, raped and tortured by serial killer Richard Cottingham aka The Torso Killer at the age of 18 in Quality Inn Room 117, Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, United States.

Cottingham spent 3 hours raping and sexually torturing O'Dell but was interrupted by hotel security. Cottingham was apprehended while fleeing from the motel.
