21-year-old musician Sid Vicious, originally John Simon Ritchie attempts to commit suicide by slitting his wrist with a smashed light bulb in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States. Vicious was subsequently hospitalized at Bellevue Hospital where he also tried killing himself by jumping from a window as well as shouting "I want to be with my Nancy" or other similar words, but got pulled back by hospital staff.
