Pesce was abducted with her 18-year-old roommate Anita Luchessa. Kemper beheaded Luchessa's and Pesce’s body and kept the heads for a while, eventually disposing them in a ravine. Pesce was found and identified, nothing of Luchessa was ever found.

Mary Esty, Martha Cory, Ann Pudeator, Samuel Wardwell, Mary Parker, Alice Parker, Wilmot Redd, and Margaret Scott are executed by hanging on accusation of witchcraft in Proctor's Ledge, Salem, Massachusetts, United States. It was the last group of 'witches' to be executed. Clergyman Nicholas Noyes reportedly turned toward the suspended bodies of the victims and said "What a sad thing it is to see eight firebrands of hell hanging there."
