On 15 March Oberholtzer was savagely raped by The Grand Dragon of the Realm of the Indiana Ku-Klux-Klan, David Curtis Stephenson. An examination of Oberholtzer's body later revealed deep bite wounds were on her face, neck, breasts, back, legs, ankles, and tongue. She died from a staph infection from the bites plus kidney failure from the mercury poisoning.

Cop killer Irene Schroeder born as Crawford aka Trigger Woman aka Iron Irene aka Animal Woman aka Tiger Girl is executed by Old Sparky at the age of 22 in Rockview Penitentiary, Benner Township, Pennsylvania, United States. Schroeder was the first woman to die in the Pennsylvania Electric Chair.
