In February 1973 Pétain's coffin was stolen from the Île d'Yeu cemetery by extremists who demanded that President Georges Pompidou consent to his interment in the Douaumont cemetery among the war dead. Authorities retrieved the coffin a few days later and Pétain was ceremoniously reburied with a Presidential wreath on his coffin, but on the Île d'Yeu as before.

 31-year-old performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Body Art' in Galerie Lydia Megert, Münstergasse 6, Bern, Mittelland, Switzerland. I was hanging naked upside down on a tree which I had brought into the gallery. Between my body and the door a long stick was stuck. |
