Clark spent the last 112 days of his life in a hospital bed attached to the Jarvik 7, a 180 kgs console that pumped air in and out of the aluminum-and-plastic implant through a system of hoses. Clark was constantly plagued by infections, drifting into and out of consciousness, at several points asking to be allowed to die.

Gangster Bonnie Elizabeth Parker is shot dead with 25-year-old Clyde Barrow by a posse at the age of 24 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, United States. Barrow and Parker appeared in daylight in an automobile and were shot by a posse of four Texas officers, Frank Hamer, B.M. 'Manny' Gault, Bob Alcorn and Ted Hinton and two Louisiana officers, Henderson Jordan and Prentiss Morel Oakley. Parker had 26 entrance wounds in her body.
