Carl Denaro is shot in the head by serial killer David Berkowitz aka Son of Sam at the age of 20 in Browne Park, Queens, New York, New York, United States.

Denaro survived as his 18-year-old girlfriend Rosemary Keenan quickly started the car and sped away for help. Denaro eventually needed a metal plate to replace a portion of his skull.
