Serial killer Joe Joseph D. Ball aka The Alligator Man aka The Butcher of Elmendorf commits suicide by a shot through the heart at the age of 46 in The Sociable Inn, Farm to Market Road 327, Elmendorf, Texas, United States. Ball is known to have killed two and said to have killed as many as 20 women whose remains were fed to his five pet alligators. When two Bexar County sheriff's deputies went to question him, Ball pulled a handgun from his cash register and killed himself with a bullet through the heart.
