Henry and Ed were burning away marsh vegetation on the property. The fire got out of control and Henry was found afterwards. It appeared that the cause of death was heart failure, but later it was reported that Henry had bruises on his head.

Julia Connor is murdered by serial killer Henry Howard Holmes aka The Torture Doctor in Holmes Castle, S. Wallace and W. 63rd Street, Englewood, Chicago, Illinois, United States.

Connor died of chlorophorm poisoning in an abortion attempt. Holmes also killed Connor's 8-year-old daughter Pearl.
