Pesce was abducted with her 18-year-old roommate Anita Luchessa. Kemper beheaded Luchessa's and Pesce’s body and kept the heads for a while, eventually disposing them in a ravine. Pesce was found and identified, nothing of Luchessa was ever found.

65-year-old literary theorist, philosopher, linguist and semiotician Roland Barthes is hit by a laundry van in Rue des Écoles, Ve, Paris, Île-de-France, France. Barthes died on 26 March from the chest injuries he sustained in that collision.
