On 17 May Mei was force-fed by an inmate who had no medical skills at all, the feeding tube was wrongly inserted causing serious injuries. After she returned to her cell she had a headache and started to vomit blood, lapsed into a coma and never regained consciousness again. Mei was the 19th Falun Gong member to die in police custody.

Murderer Troy Albert Kunkle aka The No Remorse killer is executed by lethal injection at the age of 39 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Kunkle's last meal request was for fried chicken, chicken fried steak, a hamburger with cheese and onions, french fries, cauliflower, cinnamon rolls, apple pie and milk.
