Dornier was chased by 40 police officers and wounded in the stomach during a shootout before being taken into custody. He was diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia and thus could not be held accountable for his crime according to French law.

52-year-old child killer Ian Huntley is seriously injured in an assault in the prison workshop. in HM Prison Frankland, Brasside, Durham, County Durham, United Kingdom. Triple murderer Anthony Russell attacked Huntley with an improvised weapon, striking him in the back of the head and face. Huntley died on 7 March.
