Alse Young is executed by hanging at the age of 47 in Meeting House Square, State House Square, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Young was the first person in the records executed for witchcraft in the United States. Young was symbolically exonerated on 6 February 2017 by a Windsor Town Council resolution, along with Lydia Gilbert, the second Connecticut woman to be executed for witchcraft.
