Pesce was abducted with her 18-year-old roommate Anita Luchessa. Kemper beheaded Luchessa's and Pesce’s body and kept the heads for a while, eventually disposing them in a ravine. Pesce was found and identified, nothing of Luchessa was ever found.

46-year-old asymptomatic carrier of the pathogen associated with typhoid fever Mary Mallon aka Typhoid Mary is sent to quarantine in Riverside Hospital, North Brother Island, New York, New York, United States. Mallon remained confined for the remainder of her life until 11 November 1938. She became a minor celebrity, and was occasionally interviewed by the media. They were told not to accept even water from her.
