Kilroy was abducted on 14 March, tortured and sodomized. He was then killed by chopping the back of his neck and head with a machete. His brain was boiled in a nganga. Kilroy's legs were chopped off above his knees to facilitate his burial. A wire was inserted in his spinal cord to pull the bones out once the body decomposed.

16-year-old Donna DeMasi and 18-year-old Joanne Lomino are shot by 23-year-old serial killer David Berkowitz, originally Richard David Falco aka Son of Sam in Bellerose, Queens, New York, New York, United States. DeMasi was shot in the neck but the wound was not life-threatening. Lomino was hit in the back and was ultimately rendered paraplegic.
